_Matter can undergo physical and chemical changes. When a physical change occurs, a substance changes without altering its composition. When a chemical change occurs, a substance has chemically reacted to form one or more different substances.

Assignment....
  1. Complete the Changes Online LAB  (click on lab to use the link then click on run module)
  2. Post in the comment section 3 examples of Physical Changes AND 3 examples of Chemical Changes
  3. Explain the Law of Conservation of Matter (can be found on page 2 of study island lesson)

My first three physical changes are melting , boiling, and grinding. And 3 chemical changes are burning wood, paper to ash, and cake mix to baked cake.


Mass is the amount of matter in an object. Mass is different from weight

3 Examples of Physical Changes are, riped paper,crushed soda can, and water that changes into ice. 3 Examples of Chemical changes are, clean a penny, fire works, and boiling water.

Here are some examples of chemical and phyisical change. When you rip a papaer it is a physical change. If you were to smash a computer it would also be a phyisical change, as well as snaping a pincile. When a nail rust it is considerd a chemical change. If you were to burn wood this would also be a chemical change, as well as if you were to burn paper.

If you change the phyisical state of anything its mass stays the same.

One example of Physical change is have a piece of paper ad cutting it into little pieces changing the shape and the size.

Another example of physical change is having a glass vase in your hand and throwing it to the ground and breaking it.

The third example of a physical change is a cloud forming in the sky.

A forth example of a Physical change is pulling copper into a thin wire changing the shape not the composition.

The fifth example of a Physical change is absorption of water in a towel.

The example of a Physical change is deflating a basketball.

One example for a Chemical change is bake a cake in the oven at first its all liquid then it inflates .

Another example of a Chemical change is burning gas in side of a stove.

The third example of a Chemical change is lighting a match.

The forth example of a Chemical change is mixing chemicals in side of a test tube.

The last example of a Chemical change is chewing and digesting foods.

The state of matter that a substance has is a physical property. The particle arrangement within each state,solid, liquiid, gas, and plasma—is represented in the diagrams below. plasma has two kinds of particles: large ions and tiny electrons

3 Examples of a chemical change are -
1 . Baking a cake .
2 . Coloring your hair .
3 . Mixing solutions to make a chemical reaction , or exsplosion .

3 Examples of a physical change are -
1 . Breaking A pencil .
2 . Ripping paper .
3 . Glueing two pictures together .

The Law of Conservation of Matter , is that matter is neither created or destroyed . The mass of a substance remains constant whether it's whole , separated into pieces , or in a different state . If a substance undergoes a chemical change , the masses of theproducts will equal the masses of the original products .

The mass of an isolated system(closed to all matter and energy) will remian constant over time.

A physical change is a change that doesn't change their substances. A physical change works where this gets count on for the shape, color and size. An example for the physical change is that if you just put a liquid in the freezer than it turns into an ice cube but it didn't change substances right. Its still a liquid.
A chemical change is a substance that does change in a matter. Well this change you can look for is fire, burning and rusting. For example this counts with burning a tree or even baking a cake.

3 examples of Physical Changes are coloring your hair, baking a cake, mixing baking soda and vinger.

The the law of conservation of matter says that matter is neither created or destroyed. The mass of a substance remains constant whether it is whole, separated into pieces, or in a different state. If a substance undergoes a chemical change, the masses of the products will equal the masses of the original products.
