Dred Scott was a slave who was taken by his owner to live in an area where slavery was prohibited. In 1846, Scott sued for his freedom, claiming since hre had lived in a area where slavery was not allowed, he's allowed to be free. In 1857, the Dred Scott v. Sandford case went to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled against Scott, saying that Congress did not have the power to prohibit slavery in the territories, then declaring that the Missouri Compromise was unconstitutional.

Susan b. anthony is one of the most well--known advocates of women's rights. She started organizing for equal pay as a teen schoolteacher. In the 1850s, she became a national leader for women's suffrage (the right to vote). She traveleed as a speaker throughout the U.S. and Europe and wrote a book about the suffrage movement. Susan help to fight for equal rights for women,and it worked.

In 1846, Dred Scott sued for his freedom, For claiming that he was a slave in a area where no slavery allowed. Then in 1857, the Dred Scott v. Dred Scott's impact caused other black's to feel that there was hope, and maid others feel that slavery was wrong.

Harriet Tubman was big help during slavery times for she helped over 300 slaves to freedom useing the uderground rail road.

Dred Scott's participation in U.S. democracy by fighting against supreme court. He was fighting for his freedom because he was sued for fighting his freedom. He lived in a country where slavery is illegal. This gives opportunities for the family to make things free. Susan B. Anthony helps by teaching with the teens and helped with the women civil rights movements.
