Life is very diverse and living things come in all shapes and sizes.  For this week research different types of living things and write about them.

Step by step directions:
  1. Look up two types of plants; one example of a vascular plant and one example of a non-vascular plant.  Please write their scientific name (genus and species) and provide a brief description of them. (5 points)
  2. Look up two types of animals; one example of a vertebrate and one example of an invertebrate.  Please write their scientific name (genus and species) and provide a brief description of them. (5 points)
  3. Look up one example of a single cellular organism and one example of a multi-cellular organism (you can use one of your examples from above if you want.  Write a brief description and their scientific name. (5 points)

Non-vascular Plants:Bryophytes that is a non-vascular plant because Do not have true roots, stems and leaves. These plants have organs that appear similar to true roots, stems and leaves but they are not true organs. Because of the lack of roots and stems these plants cannot reach water under the soil they adsorb water threw the cell

Calochortuslyallii is a vascular plant because
Vascular plants have vascular tissues which circulate resources through the plant. This feature allows vascular plants to evolve to a larger size than non-vascular plants, which lack these specialized conducting tissues and are therefore restricted to relatively small sizes.

One example of a vascular plant is they have three types of main kinds of organs witch are the stem,leaves and roots.

One example of a nonvascular plant is they do not have any tissue to help them pass food and nutrients.

A vertebae is a fish, witch has obtain dissolved oxygen from the water.

1.A vascular plant is a plant that has a stem and a root and absorption.A non-vascular plant absorb cells.
2.A vertebrate is a animal that has a backbone.A invertebrates a animal with no backbone.

Non-vascular plants can be mosses and ferns that doesn't have a stem, roots and leaves to carry out nutrients. But they do rely on cells unlike vascular plants they they rely on the stem, roots, and leaves. Vertebrate animals have backbones like us and an alligator. But invertebrates don't have backbones like a worm some fishes. A single cellular has one cell and the multi-cellular has all kinds of cells.

Ferns are Vascular plants . They are usually green or brown and have long skinny leaf's . Mosses are Nonvascular plants and is green and fuzzy like , usually in nature . A snail is a Invertebrate animal . It has no backbone , and lives on land in a shell . Birds are Vertebrate animals . They have a backbone . Birds have feathers and are mammals . Animals are a multi-celled organism . They have many parts to them . Some kinds of fungi are single celled organisms . They are made of one thing .

Mosses are nonvascular they have no vascular tissues that help transport water and nutrients. Ferns are vascular plant has three main kinds of organs roots, stems and leaves.

Earthworms are invertebrates are animals that do not have a backbone, or any other types of bones. Mammals are warm-blooded vertebrates that breathe air with lungs.

Moss is a single cellular organism.

Animals are multi-cellular organism.

My non vascular plant are liverwort's. And vascular plants are ferns and . there are 8000 species of liverworts,and its scientific name is Hepatica.

One vertebrate animal is shark , and my invertebrate is a earth worms. and scientific name for earth worm is Lumbricus terrestris. And a scientific name for shark is Carcharodon carcharias.

A vascular plant has three main kinds of organs: roots, stems and leaves. The roots are the part of the plant that grows underground.Roots give a plant support, anchoring it into the soil. They also collect water and minerals from the soil.

Non-vascular plants are the simplest types of plants and most similar to their algal ancestors. They have no vascular tissues that help transport water and nutrients. Instead, they rely on diffusion from cell to cell, which can be a very slow and inefficient process.

Vertebrates are animals that have backbones. They include a variety of organisms that can be further divided into smaller classification groups. These groups are fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.

Invertebrates are animals that do not have a backbone, or any other types of bones. However, many invertebrates do have an exoskeleton, or a hard outer skeleton, for support. A snail at the beach, an insect in a tree, and an earthworm in the soil are all kinds of invertebrates.

Vascular & Non-Vascular

Non Vascular: Mosses - Mosses are non vascular plants. They belong to the* phylum bryophyta * types of plants .

Vascular: Ferns - Ferns are vascular plants, using tissues to move water and nutrients to their leaves, shoots and roots. They are a really old kind of vascular plant .

vertebrate groups.
Fish = scales
Amphibians = smooth or bumpy skin
Reptiles = scales
Birds = feathers
Mammals = fur and hair .

Single celled Organism
SLIME MOULD - Slime moulds start out as amoebalike cells hunting for food in damp habitats. Later, the cells join together to build spore-producing structures.

One vascular plant is the Fern, a fern is a non seeded plant and it does not have any flowers.A fern is any one of a group of about 12,000 species of plants belonging to the botanical group known as Pteridophyta.

One non-vascular plant is a Oak tree a Oak tree may also appear in the names of species in related genera, notably Lithocarpus. Oaks have spirally arranged leaves, with a lobed margin in many species; some have serrated leaves or entire leaves with a smooth margin.And the non-vascular Oak tree have acorn seeds.

One animal that is an vertebrates is a Fish. Fish are cold-blooded vertebrates that live in water. They get oxygen from the water through their gills. Most fish also lay eggs and have fins and scales. Salmon, clownfish, tuna, sharks, trout, snapper, and swordfish are all classified as fish.

One animal that is a invertebrates Most mollusks have a hard shell they can pull into to protect the soft parts of their bodies. They usually have a muscular foot that allows movement or can open and close their shell. Snails, clams, slugs, squid, and octopuses are all examples of mollusks.

And one example for a single celled organism is Bacteria.

And one example for a multi- celled organism is a human

An oak tree is a vascular plant and moss is a non vascular plant. the oak tree has stems for water to come down through and moss has no stems so water just falls through.

A fish is a vertebrate and an ant is a invertebrate. Invertebrates are animals that do not have a backbone, or any other types of bones. Vertebrates are animals that have backbones. They include a variety of organisms that can be further divided into smaller classification groups.

ALGAE is a single cellular organism and a egg is a multi-cellular organism. Multicellular organisms are organisms with more than one cell. lime moulds start out as amoebalike cells hunting for food in damp habitats.

Vascular plants (also know as tracheophytes or higher plants) are those plants that have lignified tissues for conducting water, minerals, and photosynthetic products through the plant.

Juniper haircap moss polytrichum Juniperhum and, Awned haircap moss polytrichum piliferum are nun-vascular plants. Is a cosmopolitan moss growing on every continent including Antarctica.
