They are different because a mineral has the same structure the whole way through, and rocks can be made of any kind of mineral. Minerals are identified by there shape, size, color, weight, and visible markings. Rock are identified by there color, odor, streak, luster, hardness, and magnetism. There are five rocks(Igneous Rock,Sedimentary Rock,Metamorphic Rock... And the five minerals are Graphite,Talc,Gypsum,Galena, and Diamond...

A Mineral it has a same structure as a rock but its a pure substance.
A Rock has different shapes, size, color,& weight ,They have different types of minerals.Rocks and Minerals have same types of rocks Quartz,Odor,Streak,Luster,Hardness, Magnetism ,But a Mineral Has there own types of mineral just as rocks the minerals such as have,Talc has everything and its gravity is 2.7-2.8 Galena has everything but fracture and its gravity is 7.5 Hematite has everything but cleavage and its gravity is cleavage its gravity is 5.1

Rocks
1. There are three major classifications of rock: Igneous rock, metamorphic rock and sedimentary rock

3. Igneous rock forms when magma and lava cool and make mineral crystals.

4.5. Sedimentary rocks contain plant and animal matter and the rocks formed from deposition, compaction, and cementation of sediment are sedimentary rocks.

Rock`s and mineral are usually identified or grouped by their physical properties. Mineral`s is a pure substance. Has the structure all the way through rocks.

Rock`s: 1. Basalt is a common type of extrusive igneous rock it is formed from molting lava.2. Granite is a common type of intrusive igneous rock. The relatively large mineral crystals so they are easy to see. 3. Sedimentary rocks commonly form as a layers. These rock layers in the Grand Canyon. 4. Phyllite forms under moderate temperature and pressure conditions relative to other types of metamorphic rocks. 5. Magma is a liquid based rock it is in the igneous group.

Minerals: Gold is a mineral it is hard and feels smooth and sharp. 2. diamond is a mineral it i shaped like a cube. 3. Quatrz is mineral two rhombonesdron. 4. Talc it is a mineral it is shapped flatted. 5. glenna is shapped like a cube.

A mineral is a naturally occurring, homogeneous, usually inorganic, solid substance with a definite chemical composition and an orderly atomic arrangement. An example of a mineral is a quartz crystal.

Rocks and minerals are usually identified or grouped by their physical properties. Properties used to identify rocks include shape, size, color, weight, and visible markings. Properties used to identify minerals include color, odor, streak, luster, hardness, and magnetism.

(Rock 1) . Igneous rock (Mineral 1) . Graphite
(Rock 2) . metamorphic rock (Mineral 2) . Talc
(Rock 3) . sedimentary rock (Mineral 3) . Quartz
(Rock 4) . Intrusive Igneous (Mineral 4) . Diamond
(Rock 5) . Extrusive Igneous (Mineral 5) . Pyrite

Rock 1. Igneous rock forms when magma and lava cool and make mineral crystals.

Rock 2 . Metamorphic rocks are formed from pre-existing rocks which have been changed by the exposure to extreme heat and pressure.

Rock 3 . The rocks formed from deposition, compaction, and cementation of sediment are sedimentary rocks.

Rock 4. Intrusive igneous rock forms underground, within the Earth’s crust or mantle.

Rock 5 . Extrusive igneous rock forms above ground, as lava and other materials that erupt from volcanoes cool quickly.

Rocks and minerals are different because minerals would have the same color all the way through, unlike rocks, which could have many different colors and shape. They are both found in the earth. There are many different kinds of rocks. Intrusive Igneous rocks are found underground, they have large mineral crystals. Extrusive Igneous rocks form above ground, they have small mineral crystals.

A mineral is a pure substance that is formed naturally. A rock is made up of one or more minerals. Properties to identify rocks are shape size color weight and visible markings. Properties to identify minerals are color odor streak luster hardness and magnetism. Some rocks form in magma. Pencil lead is made of a type of mineral. One type of rock changes a lot. A mineral is a homogeneous, usually inorganic, solid substance with a definite chemical composition and an orderly atomic arrangement. Rocks and mineral are alike because they both get tested by their color. And because they both can be fond deep in the earth. They are also alike because they can be very valuable. They are alike because they both have types of designs and shapes on them, and they are alike because they can be hard or easy to break if they are flat. One type of rock is Igneous rock forms when magma and lava cool and make mineral crystals. Another type of rock is Sedimentary rock. Sedimentary rock is the breakdown of rock by agents such as wind and water. Erosion is the transportion of the broken rock material, or sediments, to a new location, where it is deposited. Sediments may also contain plant and animal matter. Another type of rock is metamorphic rock. Metamorphic rocks are formed from pre-existing rocks which have been changed by the exposure to extreme heat and pressure. One type of mineral is Graphite, it's color is steel grey, and its luster is metallic and its streak is black. Another type is gold its shape is nugget or grain.

Properties used to identify rocks include shape, size, color, weight, and visible markings. Properties used to identify minerals include color, odor, streak, luster, hardness, and magnetism.
2) You use minerals every day. Pencil "lead" is actually made of graphite, a mineral that leaves a black streak. Some electronic devices you use may have quartz components. The walls around you are probably made of gypsum.

Minerals can be placed into categories according to their physical properties. A physical property is a characteristic of a substance that can be observed or measured without changing the substance. Some of the physical properties, like luster and color, can be determined simply by looking at them. Other properties, like hardness and magnetism can be determined with easy tests.
3 )Minerals can be classified by their color. Some minerals have unusual colors. But in general, color is not the best way to identify a mineral because the same mineral may have different colors, depending on how it formed. Also, several minerals are the same color. The property of color is best used along with another property when identifying a mineral.Hardness describes a mineral’s ability to resist scratching or cracking. It is measured using the Mohs’ hardness scale. The mineral talc has a hardness of 1 is easily scratched by a fingernail. Diamond, which is the hardest known substance, has a hardness of 10.

Rocks and minerals are different because
1. A mineral is made of the same material all the way through, while rocks are made up of different types of minerals.
2. The ways to identify the types of the rocks and minerals are different. Rocks: shape, size, color, and weight. Minerals: color, odor, streak, luster, and hardness.
3. Most minerals are valuable, while people could care less about rocks.
4.There are three different types of rocks, Sedimentary, Metamorphic, and Igneous. But, there are many different types of minerals.
5.Rocks change from one type of rocks to other types of rocks, and minerals stay the same mineral forever.
Metamorphic rock is a type of rock which is made when igneous rock goes through pressure and heat changes. After thousands of years it forms Metamorphic rock.
Sedimentary rock is formed in layers. It is the only rock you will find fossils in.
"Igneous rock forms when magma and lava cool and make mineral crystals." There are two types of Igneous rock, intrusive and extrusive. Intrusive rocks form underground and extrusive rock forms above ground.
Graphite is a mineral that has an important job. It is used as the lead in your pencil. It is also one of the softest minerals.
Diamonds are one of the hardest and most valuable minerals. They are used in most jewelry.
Gold is a very soft mineral. It used to be very valuable to people. It is mined for in gold mines.
Copper is a mineral used in a lot of everyday things. It is an conductor, which means it allows electricity to run through it.
Citrine i an mineral and is the November birthstone, some people like to mistake it for gold.

1. Rocks can be made from many different minerals or substances. There are three different types of rocks. Some rocks have big mineral crystals in them. Some rocks get broken down by weathering. You can tell a rocks type by the color or weight of it.
Minerals are one substances, not mixed together. You can identify a minerals type by color or it's luster. Minerals are formed naturally. Minerals are normally inorganic. Minerals have an organized atomic arrangement.
2. Basalt is a type of Igneous rock, it has individual crystallized pieces. Igneous is another type of rock,it is formed when lava magma and make mineral crystals. Metamorphic rock is another type of rock,it is formed using an already pre-existing rock that has changed over time. Sedimentary rock is a also another type of rock, it is formed when minerals ans and sand layer together and over time they form a rock layer. Another rock type is Intrusive rock, this rock is formed in the earth instead of on the surface.
3. Diamonds are a type of mineral, they are in fact the hardest mineral. Graphite is also another mineral, it is the stuff they use in the pencil lead. Gold is another mineral that is used in jewelry around the world. Another mineral is quartz, it can be found in granite which is used to build buildings. Talc is another mineral that has a white to green color, and is extremely light.
