Scientific investigations are organized attempts to seek out, describe, explain, and predict natural phenomena. Scientific investigations are often performed to explore new phenomena, verify the results of previous investigations, test theoretical predictions, and discriminate between competing theories.

Assignment....

1. List and describe a few of the types of scientific investigations listed in Study Island.

2. Create you own hypothesis about a topic, a hypothesis that can be tested. Write your hypothesis and tell what type of scientific investigation would be needed to test it.

WY ARE CARS SO Polutint

Cars can pollute the air by the fumes of the gas that makes the car run.if we were to figure out a way to make gas more efficient would half to do studys of the ways to make the gas less pollution

A few of the types of scientific investigations listed in study island are Overview, Collecting Specimens,Seeking More Information,and Making Models.
I think that I have ants in my house is because there is sugar on the floors. The type of scientific investigations that would be needed to test it would be Performing a Controlled Scientific Experiment.

Collecting Specimens is when someone collects something to compair it with each other. Seeking More Information is when you find more about something.

My hypothesis is that paper well travel slower that a rock, i can test this by timing the time it takes for a rock to hit the ground and the time it takes for peace of paper to hit the ground.

Why do people like to watch television? I think that people like to watch television because it entertains them.We could test this by asking (X) number of people why they like to watch Television.

Making Models

Making a model of something that is too large, rare, complex, or dangerous to fully observe in person can help scientists understand how it works.

Seeking More Information

woman researching a topic When new phenomena are observed, it may be necessary to seek more information. This is especially important in cases where the new phenomena appears to refute well-accepted scientific principles.

2 Our topic is why do pumpkins rot outside faster than inside our hypothesis is we think the pumpkins rots outside faster because of the heat with the sun and we thing it does not rot faster inside because it is a lot cooler inside than outside.

when i leave milk out after 8 hours it starts smelling and it gets chunky .
I use observations to measure this.

2.My hypothesis is do the size of a bird effect how fast it fly.
Get 2 birds and have a time so you can time how fast they go.
Time how fast the little bird goes and time how fast the big bird goes and then compare them.

Some of the scientific Investigations are to Research topics, Form a Hypothesis, Design an Experiment to test the Hypothesis, Collect Relevant Data,and etc. One of my hypothesis is Why do plants always grow up poles when you put a plant by a pole. The scientific investigation I can use are to Collect Data and Observe it too.
