(1.) Neurotech company looks to break into deep brain stimulation market for Parkinson’s disease

(2) A neurotechnology company is planning a clinical study aimed at helping it enter the deep brain stimulation market for Parkinson’s disease patients.

(3) Great Lakes NeuroTechnologies is aiming to help surgeons and neurologists fine-tune deep brain stimulation (DBS) systems after they’ve been implanted in Parkinson’s patients.

(4) Great Lakes’ Kinesia movement disorder assessment technology would be used to generate what company president Joe Giuffrida calls “tuning maps”

(5) Doctors would then use those maps to make adjustments to the amplitude, frequency or location of electricity delivered to patients

(6) Next month, Great Lakes expects to begin a 15-patient study of its technology for use with DBS patients.

(7) Earlier this month, Great Lakes was awarded a patent around the Kinesia system’s quantitative assessment of movement disorders.

(8) Great Lakes’ Kinesia technology is already used for home monitoring of patients with movement disorders.

I think this is a interesting subject and will help many people. I hope the study will be successful, and will take some time to figure out if the study will is one hundred percent accurate .

A man, 57, was charged with cruelty to animals March 21 after an officer noticed a dog waiting inside a truck at a Medina Road bookstore. The windows were rolled down a few inches, but there was no food or water for the animal and the temperature outside was 80 degrees. The officer said he waited more than an hour for the owner to return. He should have taken better care of the animal. He also should have not brought the dog in the first place!

On Feburary 26,1012 17 year old Trayvon Martin (African American) was shoot and killed by 28 year old George Zimmerman (White & Latin) In Sanford, Florida . Trayvon was walking to his fathers house in a hoodie on the 26th but then he stopped at a local store and got an ice tea and skittles , Zimmermen said he was part of a neighborhood watch commite and thought Trayvon was being suspicious and shoot and killed him.
I think that Trayvon shouldn't of died because he wasn't doing anything wrong but being black and wearing a hoodie , i think Zimmerman is just racist.

The less polluting pig, called the “enviropig,” has a gene that allows it to better digest phosphorous in its food, therefore reducing the amount of phosphorous in the manure. Phosphorous can contribute to algal blooms and other environmental problems. Ontario Pork, an organization of hog farmers that had been financially supporting the project at the University of Guelph in Ontario, has decided to stop spending money on it.

Cecil Forsberg, an emeritus professor of molecular and cellular biology at the university who was a co-inventor of the pig, said he agreed with the decision.

There was cracks of lighting .

A gay student in Cincinnati Ohio, is suing his local school district for violating his freedom of speech rights. Maverick Couch said the principal at his high-school had threatened to suspend him if he wore the shirt to school. The shirt itself said "Jesus is not a homophobe". Couch went on to say that the school had no right to interfere with his personal beliefs. Couch tried to avoid the matter without the court but the school district took him to court anyway. Couch decided to wear the shirt in the first place because he was trying to promote a day of silence, which is April 20, where kids all over the world endure in a day of silence for those who are bullied because they are gay.

I think that the school has no right to say what any kid should were. I agree with Couch that that was his way of speaking out for what he believes in and the school shouldn't of taken that away from him.

On Tuesday, supporters of gay rights in Alaska’s largest city took the issue out of the mayor’s hands. In a citywide ballot measure, voters were overwhelmingly rejecting language, known as Proposition 5, that would have added protections for people regardless of “sexual orientation or transgender identity” to the city’s civil rights laws. The measure was failing 58 percent to 42, defying polls showing it would succeed.that the bill would, for example, prevent them from firing employees at their church school if they learned they were gay. Opponents ran adds suggesting various situations a new law would create, including one in which a church would not be able to prevent a cross-dresser from working in its day-care facility.

Yesterday in Dallas,Texas,Twelve tornado's touched down in Northern Texas. These storms caught residences by surprise.Tornado's destroyed numerous neighborhoods.Cars and trucks were tossed like toys.About one hundred people plus spent over night in a shelter.DFW Airport spokesman David Magana said more than 110 planes were damaged by hail, but he didn't say which airlines.

This was tragic and we feel really bad for the people that have lost their homes and had to stay at a shelter. Also we feel that people should start rebuilding their houses so they can have homes,or at lease give them a free home because it wasn't their fault for the tornado happening.

Stocks drop as hope for more Fed stimulus fades

On Wednesday, stocks took a big hit, a day after minutes of the last rate-setting meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve indicated that further monetary stimulus is unlikely.

U.S. stock futures were pointing lower before the open.
Fed policy makers are concerned over U.S. economic growth and the pace of hiring, they showed no sign that they were ready to pump more money into the world's largest economy.

One of the reasons markets have rallied from their lows three years ago was that central banks around the world, notably the Fed, have provided big injections of cash into the financial system.

What the story says is that a 17 year old boy was shot in front of open pantry... What i think is that people should not stand in front of stores trapping or doing things that you really shouldn't be doing... I really think if teens stop selling drugs and hanging places where there not suppose to be everybody would get along...

Doctors want to stop people from paying for treatments they don't need. Most people pay millions of dollars on procedures for things they don't have. These treatments can hurt them. Since doctors are worried about being sued, They put out a list of symptoms you must have to get the treatment. I think this is smart because now , people shouldn't pay a ton of money on something they don't need. But, i also think this could be a bad thing because the patients could get a deadly disease and not be allowed to take the tests, because they don't have the symptoms. So what i think should happen, is patients should be allowed to take free tests to see if they have anything. And if they have something, they could pay for the right treatments.

POLICE: GIRL FORCED TO RUN 3 HOURS DIES;2 CHARGED

A nine year old girl named Savannah Hardin, died couple days after running 3 hours.
Her step mom and grandmother called the police after Savannah stole a candy bar for her grandmother. Now both step mom and grandmother are held in jail for murder. They say she died because she was extremely dehydrated and had a very low sodium level.
Neighbors said they saw Savannah running but with no one chasing her or anything. Step mom and grandmother, Garrard and Jessica Mae Hardin are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center, each on a $500,000 cash bond.
At her school Carlisle Elementary School kids mad her desk into a makeshift memorial were the students can leave notes mementos.
I think that is so was uncalled for 1.) For her step mom and grandmother to call the police cause she stole a candy bar from them there are other things you can do for a punishment 2.) Its was also uncalled for for the police officer to make a nine year old run for 3 hours without a brake and nothing to drink. And the grandmother and step mom should get life for be childish.
